EXCLUSIVE: Buccaneers insider hilariously reveals difficulty acquiring tickets for Tom Brady's potentially last NFL game vs. Cowboys
The playoffs are here with Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosting the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night and promises to be a great game between two teams who have glaring weaknesses and established strengths.
If that wasn't enough to leave NFL fans salivating, there is an additional prospect that Tom Brady might play his last game should he lose. He retired last year, only to reverse his decision, but this season has not gone right for him with the Buccaneers stumbling to a 8-9 losing record.
Due to this possibility, there are people queueing up for tickets for Monday's game. It has become so hard to come by that established Bucs insider TJ Rives is struggling to get tickets for the home game in Tampa.
He spoke exclusively to Sportskeeda's "The BallFather Podcast" to highlight his predicament.
"I don't have tickets for Monday night. People are convinced that you and I are like ticketmaster, Reggie, whenever these games come to town, I don't have tickets for the Cowboys, the Bucs. I'm just putting this out there. But I've had people hit me up for tickets, people asking me, what do I think? People asking me, is this Brady's last game if they lose? There is palpable anticipation here of what this is going to be."
He also lamented that this is the last game this week, but it may only serve to whet appetites.
"The only downside is we got to wait all the way till Monday night through the whole playoff weekend. Everybody's playing games on Saturday, three more on Sunday and you wait all the way till Monday night here for this to be built up."
Rives even highlighted the palpable excitement in the area when he talked about casual fans who knew him talking about the game.
"But yes, everywhere you go, one of the biggest Buccaneer fans is the guy that cuts my lawn. Yes, I may be an elitist. I don't cut my own lawn. Up first, I'm bad at it. But the lawn guy was here yesterday and he's bending my ear about Cowboys pass rush versus Brady getting the ball out of his hand quick and whatever. There is a buzz. There is no doubt that there is a buzz for this game Monday night."
Is Tom Brady done after this season?
There is a lot of speculation as to whether Tom Brady will return to the NFL following this season. He might not, but given he unretired just last season, it could prove unlikely.
However, he might not stay with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as teams like the Las Vegas Raiders and the San Francisco 49ers are expected to be in the hunt for him. The New York Jets and a return to the New England Patriots have also been mentioned as outside shots.
If he does go to some other team, he will go to a team immediately capable of challenging for the Super Bowl. That is unless he lifts the Lombardi Trophy this season. Knowing Tom Brady, it never does well to count him out.
