EXCLUSIVE: Carolina Panthers OL Bradley Bozeman and Austin Corbett reveal pre-game hype playlists
The Carolina Panthers are coming to the end of a long season. Many players will return for the next campaign, but others will not be as fortunate. In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda, two Panthers starting linemen discussed how they prepare for matches.
Guard Austin Corbett explained that he listens to music to get in the zone:
"I don't really have a set playlist or set songs. I always just rock with the Metallica radio on Pandora. And then... you really get to a point where you don't even hear the music. You're just kind of so in the zone thinking about visualizing what's gonna go on on the field... That's how you get in the zone."
Center Bradley Bozeman said that he doesn't actively listen to music before games, instead he talks with his teammates:
"Honestly, I don't even listen to music. It's whatever comes on the stereo in the locker room. I know I'm weird, but I just like to sit here and talk to the guys and listen to the music that comes on and just get ready to play."
These two different methods have been paying dividends in recent times, with Carolina putting on an offensive display.
Carolina Panthers offense explodes in December behind a stonewall offensive line
Since Thanksgiving, Carolina has scored at least 30 points twice and at least 23 points four times. Many have credited the great running game for the team's surging offense in recent years, and this remains true this season.
This has only inproved in recent weeks. Gaps created by the line have created gaping holes for D'Onta Foreman, Chuba Hubbard, and Raheem Blackshear to gash defenses.
Since Thanksgiving, the team has earned at least 185 yards on the ground three times. Most agree that 100 yards is the standard goal, meaning the Panthers have been crushing it on the ground.
Their best rushing game of the campaign came in Week 16 against the Detroit Lions, when the team earned 320 yards. Their running game proved the killer blow against Detroit and stopped the Seattle Seahawks in their tracks.
Although their late playoff push came to an end against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Panthers can look back at the season with a lot of positivity.
After a poor start to the season, they not only rallied, but dominated several games. A few questionable calls and some rotten luck may cost them a place in the postseason, but the future certainly looks bright in Carolina.
