"F**k, I can't do any of that" - Tom Brady admits Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson are a level above him
Tom Brady has made hundreds of millions of dollars by being known as the best quarterback he's ever faced. However, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' quarterback recently admitted that he was unable to replicate what two of the top quarterbacks of the next generation did on Sunday.
Brady explained on the Let's Go! Podcast on how the quarterbacks of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens outperform him in terms of ability. Here's how he put it:
"Then I see other players, let's say like Patrick Mahomes or today's Lamar Jackson. I go, 'f***, I can't do any of that.' How did they do that? It blows me away because however they're playing, I don't see the game the way they see it."
The quarterback was alluding to Lamar Jackson's electric speed and Patrick Mahomes' ability to sprint around in the pocket and outside of it while delivering passes in new ways.
Tom Brady's accomplishments since the arrival of Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson
While the quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hasn't been able to replicate the physical ability of his opponents, he's been able to win as well or better. Since Patrick Mahomes was drafted in 2017, the quarterback has won two Super Bowl titles and played in a third.
In 2017, he took the New England Patriots to the Super Bowl in a losing matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. Then, in 2018, he returned to the big game, defeating the Los Angeles Rams in a Super Bowl for the second time. In 2020, as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he defeated Patrick Mahomes in Super Bowl 55.
In comparison to Brady, Mahomes has won one Super Bowl. Lamar Jackson is still looking for his first Super Bowl appearance.
