“F–k that, I’m going home” – Tom Brady’s reported reaction to horror defeat vs 49ers does not bode well for Buccaneers

A first-ever loss against a rookie QB on his first-ever start would've likely left Tom Brady stirring in his sleep. Brock Purdy stole the show in Week 14 as, returning to the Bay Area for just the second time in his career, he led the San Francisco 49ers to a win over the GOAT.

It was a humbling experience for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback as the team he supported growing up ended up replacing their third-choice quarterback (starting today) with their fourth-choice before closing out the victory. It was all too comfortable for the 49ers, and quite the opposite for the Buccaneers.

Naturally, the loss stung Tom Brady. The seven-time Super Bowl champ reportedly took off his uniform and without pausing to even take a shower, left the building.

Brady said:

“Some things I don’t give a f— about, at this point. F—k that. I’m going home.”

The last part of the sentence would've been particularly worrisome from a Tampa Bay perspective. It showed a certain wariness that does not bode well for the rest of the season.

While they will likely qualify for the playoffs by virtue of being in an incredibly weak NFC South, a performance like this is unlikely to inspire much confidence this late in the season.

Tom Brady's showering habit is not new

While some of our more hygiene-friendly readers might balk at Tom Brady for not showering after the game, it is apparently a long-term habit.

It is so uncommon that when Rob Gronkowski and Tom Brady sat down for a chat, Gronk highlighted this as one of the strangest things about the quarterback.

There were strong rumors after Brady's Patriots departure that San Francisco was where he wanted to end up at in the twilight of his career. One last dance in San Fran, however, was not meant to be for the superstar QB.

Like clockwork, those rumors have once again bubbled to the surface, with reports now claiming that Brady will look at all avenues after the ongoing season.

Father Time, however, appears to be in sight of Tom Brady, if Week 14 is anything to go by. After a miraculous drive to lead the Bucs to victory the week before, he was outgunned 7-35 by a rookie quarterback this week.

Falling to a 6-7 record may point to a decline not merely arising out of on-field issues.
