"Fire the coach, he sucks" - Reggie Bush issues fierce takedown of Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel

With a 5-7 record after a Thanksgiving Day loss to the Green Bay Packers, the Miami Dolphins' playoff chances stand in disarray. According to Sportskeeda's algorithm, the Dolphins now have a mere 15.33% chance of making the playoffs.

A major talking point after Week 13 was the Dolphins' continued struggles in cold weather. They have now lost their last 12 games in 40 degrees or lower. ESPN's Stephen A Smith highlighted this stat on "First Take" this week, and It appears former NFL All-Pro Reggie Bush was paying attention.

The former Heisman winner left a comment under ESPN's post on Instagram of Stephen A Smith's First Take segment, saying:

"Fire the coach, he should have never had the opportunity, he sucks."

Exploring Miami Dolphins' record under Mike McDaniel

Overall, the Dolphins are 25-21 in the regular season in the two years McDaniel has been the head coach. They are winless in the playoffs despite being big spenders every year. Having a core featuring Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, De'Von Achane and Raheem Mostert means the Dolphins will play entertaining football more often than not.

However, McDaniel's lack of success while playing meaningful football in January means the pressure will continue to rise on the 41-year-old. As things stand, there have been no rumors pointing toward the Dolphins parting ways with McDaniel, who has garnered a reputation as an offensive mastermind in the league.

On the off chance that the Dolphins do fire him, he will be expected to have plenty of suitors in the league. At present, the Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints and New York Jets are all in dire need of a new head coach, having fired Matt Eberflus, Dennis Allen and Robert Saleh in-season. Given the state of the franchise, the New York Giants could also part ways with Brian Daboll in the offseason.

When all is said and done, we could very well see a total of five to seven teams looking for new head coaches in 2025.
