Former Dolphins CB Xavien Howard accused of sharing explicit photos with mother of victim for revenge
Xavien Howard is still unsigned after officially leaving the Miami Dolphins earlier this month. Now, other teams might balk at courting him after some disturbing news.
On Thursday, it emerged that the two-time All-Pro and four-time Pro Bowl cornerback was charged in May with leaking sexually explicit photos and videos of multiple women over a two-year period. The minor son (John Doe) of one of the women received one such video of his mother (Jane Doe) in a vengeful attempt to “humiliate them and cause emotional distress”, per court documents.
According to reports, Jane Doe began seeing Howard in 2016. In early 2022, they began an intimate relationship but split in July. Two months later, she received an Instagram message “from a third-party female, claiming she had several sexually explicit videos” of him engaging in sexual activity with various women.
Angered, she contacted him to demand an explanation. He allegedly said he wanted to “make her mad because she did not want to have sex with him.” The cornerback was then given a cease-and-desist order in October 2022, but it did not deter him from sending material, leading to her receiving another message in April 2023.
Jane Doe is reportedly demanding $50,000 in damages, while John Doe says Howard's actions against him constituted a "warpath," according to the lawsuit:
“John Doe is the son of another woman (hereinafter referred to as “Mother”) Howard became sexually involved with, who after impregnating her, demanding that she have an abortion, and her refusing, went on a warpath against her.
“Among other forms of revenge to Mother, and most notable, Howard texted sexually explicit material of Mother engaged in an explicit sex act with Howard to John Doe, who was a minor at the time.”
Lawyers of Xavien Howard's victim speaks up on allegations
Adriana Alcalde, the victim's attorney, spoke to WPLG 10, ABC's Miami affiliate, regarding the allegations Xavien Howard faces:
“We know he sent these to different people, and we don’t know how many people he sent these to. Some of those videos were taken with her consent, some of them without her consent, but none of them did she ever consent to be disseminated to anyone.”
Neither the cornerback nor his attorneys have responded to the filing. This is not the first time Xavien Howard has encountered legal trouble, as back in November, another woman accused him of knowingly giving her genital herpes. Howard's attorney Brad Sohn denied the allegation, and the suit was soon dropped.
