Former Dolphins rival Devin McCourty gives his interpretation of Tyreek Hill's detainment in Miami

Devin McCourty and Tyreek Hill would have been rivals had McCourty still been in the NFL. The former New England Patriots star spent his career competing against the Miami Dolphins, but he sided with Hill when it came to how police detained the star receiver.

Speaking on Tuesday's edition of "Pro Football Talk," Devin McCourty expressed an alleged belief that the "pi**ed off" officer was not in the right state of mind (2:43):

"I think it became, the [second] officer got pissed off that Tyreek Hill rolled up his window, that the different things he was doing. ... I don't think you can start to treat people on if you're pi**ed off.
"I think all of us are in situations where if you're going through something, or something happens, and someone pisses you off, you would like to react a certain way, but that doesn't make it okay to react that way."

As Week 1 got underway around the country, reports and videos surfaced of Hill getting detained by police officers.

The officers showed apprehension after the Dolphins receiver rolled up his window during what appeared to be a traffic stop. Not long after, Tua Tagovailoa's top receiver was in handcuffs lying on the ground.

Following his detainment, many believed that Tyreek Hill might struggle on the field. However, it was just another day at the office for the Cheetah. The Miami Dolphins receiver put up 130 yards and a touchdown and celebrated by re-enacting his experience leading up to the game.

After scoring a touchdown, Hill placed his hands behind his back and Jaylen Waddle jogged over to pretend he was handcuffing the receiver.

Predictably, the image from the celebration went viral. With the adrenaline wearing off and the fallout from the sequence of events on tap, will the receiver be as confident in Week 2?
