Former Eagles star highlights how HC Nick Sirianni "protected" A.J. Brown amid team drama

Since Sunday afternoon, Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni squashed the drama surrounding wide receiver A.J. Brown. Former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson applauded Sirianni for handling the issue.

On Wednesday, Jackson appeared on the "Up and Adams Show" and told host Kay Adams that Sirianni putting the drama rumors to rest shows his abilities. Sirianni addressed reporters after Eagles pass rusher Brandon Graham said on Sports Radio 94 WIP earlier this week that there is tension between Jalen Hurts and Brown.

“See, that’s a veteran coach right there," Jackson said. "You hear one of your veteran guys say something, and he goes right to the media and says his comments weren’t directly straight to the quarterback.”

Graham's comments appeared to be authentic to fans after Brown and Hurts were seen in disagreement on the sidelines of Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.

Brown then told reporters that he and Hurts haven't been communicating and that the issue with the offense is the lack of passing. Philadelphia's offense is led by the running game, specifically running back Saquon Barkley.

What did Nick Sirianni say about A.J. Brown's comments?

Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni made his weekly radio show appearance on 94 WIP on Tuesday. He was asked about the declining relationship between his quarterback and wide receiver.

Sirianni said he didn't feel Brown's comments were targeted at Hurts.

"I didn’t take it that way," Sirianni said. "You can do anything and spin it any way. I took it as we want to get better as a passing attack. A.J. is part of the passing attack. And so, we all want to be better at it."

Sirianni said that he is "100%" positive that there aren't any hard feelings between Hurts and Brown and that everyone will be fine moving forward.

Brown had four catches for a total of 43 receiving yards. In ten games this season, Brown has 48 catches for 836 yards and four touchdowns.
