Former NFL player questions Tom Brady's attendance at Robert Kraft's wedding before the loss to Steelers
Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were on the wrong side of the most shocking result of Week 6. Heading into the game as a 10-point favorite against the Pittsburgh Steelers, all eyes were on Brady to inspire the Buccaneers to an easy win. However, the Steelers' defense stepped up and Tampa Bay were able to score just 18 points.
Tom Brady, prior to the game against the Steelers, was present at the wedding of Robert Kraft, the owner of the New England Patriots. Kraft and Brady were quite close to each other and the latter didn't hesitate in attending the wedding despite having a game on Sunday.
As the Buccaneers lost the game on Sunday, many criticized Brady for his lack of game preparation. One such critic was Emmanuel Acho, who didn't like Brady attending Kraft's marriage. Here's what Acho said about Tom Brady on Speak:
"Let me get something off my chest. I was gonna wait an hour till the end of the show. I'm not gonna wait. Now, I'm Tom Brady, you got a game on Sunday. Okay, it's Friday night. You're at a wedding of your former employer. You Meek Mill, Ed Sheeran, Elton John. Tom, you got a game on Sunday. And you are at a wedding."
Acho added:
"Not your own. Not your kids. Not your sister. Not your mom, your dad, your former employer. And then you go lose to a team that you're a 10 point favorite on meanwhile, Bill Belichick the coach, the coach, where Robert Kraft is the owner… All Belichick did was win another game with Bailey Zappe."
If the Buccaneers had won the game against the Steelers on Sunday, none of these things would have been said by the media. But since they lost, Brady's absence has become a big story.
Tom Brady can silence his critics in Week 7
Following a poor offensive outing against the Steelers, the Buccaneers have a great opportunity to get back on track. They'll face the 1-5 Carolina Panthers in Week 7. This is a great chance for him to get back in form and shut down the critics who are doubting his commitment to the team this season.
The Buccaneers are currently favored by 11 points against the Panthers. However, this line could change depending on the availability of Carolina quarterback Baker Mayfield.
Regardless of who starts under center for the Panthers, Brady will be looking to put in a huge display to change the rhetoric around Tampa Bay.
