Former Patriots HC Bill Belichick set to replace Tom Brady on Let's Go! podcast
Bill Belichick is set to start a new adventure in NFL media. The legendary head coach will be joining the new lineup for the 2024 season of "Let's Go!" Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby and renowned writer Peter King will team up with Belichick and Jim Gray in the weekly show during the NFL season.
After a tumultuous 2023 season, his final one with the New England Patriots, Belichick was unable to secure a new head-coaching job despite interviews and speculation linking him to the Atlanta Falcons. Following this forced hiatus, Belichick became a sought-after figure for multiple networks. The eight-time Super Bowl champion is now joining a first-class crew that will feature occasional guest appearances from Tom Brady.
“I thank Tom for recommending me. When the opportunity was presented by Jim I said, ‘Let’s Go,’” Belichick said, via SiriusXM. “When people say, ‘Let’s Go!’ it conveys a sense of camaraderie and teamwork that all involved share the same goals and excitement. And that’s exactly how I feel to be joining the ‘Let’s Go!’ team at SiriusXM.”
If there was one thing Bill Belichick was known for, it was his attitude toward the media. He was never the most easy-going coach in the NFL and will now be in front of the cameras, taking on a role that is new to him. Despite not coaching this season, Belichick will have a busy schedule.
NFL insider said Bill Belichick is trying to do a 'PR makeover'
Bill Belichick won't just appear on "Let's Go!" but will also be part of the "Inside the NFL" crew on CBS. Moreover, after months of chasing the former defensive coordinator, Peyton Manning secured Belichick's services for ESPN's "Monday Night Football ManningCast." If that wasn't enough, he'll have his own YouTube show.
NFL insider Dianna Russini says that Belichick is believed to be going through a 'public relations makeover,' as he wasn't used to being this open to participating in NFL shows.
“He seems to be open to it. Now the guy who hates the media is getting in front of it. Around the league though, the conversations, 'cause there is definitely some chitty-chat about, ‘Look at Belichick playing the media darling role. Going through a public relations makeover."
"A facelift, so to speak, to connect with those owners to show, ‘Look, I connect with those young people, I can be cool. I’m not just the old ball coach. I’m able to adapt,’” Russini said on FS1's 'The Herd.'
Bill Belichick parted ways with the New England Patriots after 24 seasons, and many fans are keen to see what this new chapter of life brings.
