Former Ravens WR Torrey Smith and Kimberly Klacik clash over Trump support in heated online debate

Former Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith is unhappy with Trump supporters, including the GOP nominee for Maryland's second House district, Kimberly Klacik. The Republican politician, who is running for office in the same state where the retired star played in both his college and NFL career, has been engaged in prior feuds with the Super Bowl winner.

This time the beef began with Torrey Smith saying on X, formerly known as Twitter,

"The bar is the floor for Trump supporters. It’s unbelievable:"

Kimberly Klacik, who portrays herself as Trump in heels on her X bio, responded with,

"I would love to debate you"

The former wide receiver replied to that saying that he was not interested in the offer. Instead, he wanted Donald Trump to debate Kamala Harris.

The former President had committed to a debate against Joe Biden, who was the Democratic Party nominee for President but has refused to engage with the Vice President.

The Republican candidate asserts that since the presumptive nominee has been replaced, the official nominee of the Democratic Party will be unknown until the delegates formally pledge their support to a new person, reported tallies notwithstanding.

Referencing that, Torrey Smith replied to Kimberly Klacik,

"I’m not a failed politician so I’m not interested in debating you. Get your man to debate the VP."

Calling her a failed politician really seemed to hit a nerve with the aspiring congressional candidate and she responded by demeaning his football achievements. She also accused him of posting thoughts without any facts to substantiate them and called him stupid for believing in what he did. She wrote,

"Torrey, you have so many takes that literally have no facts behind them… but if you rather stay stuck on stupid, do that... True, you are not a failed politician, you are a failed football player."

The above exchange prompted Torrey Smith to list his achievements in the NFL, including winning two Super Bowls with two different franchises. Saying he would even be a better politician than Kimberly Klacik, he commented,

"You are delusional to real life. You also don’t like facts... Average NFL career 3.3 years - I played 8 and could’ve kept going... Small percentage of players win a Super Bowl…I have 2... Also, If I wanted to in to politics, I would beat you."

These conversations could form a recurring backdrop to our lives until November 2024, when the elections for the Presidential and Congressional races take place.
