Fred Warner's wife Sydney calls out DK Metcalf after Seahawks WR's viral fight with 49ers star - "A piece of TRASHiana"

Fred Warner got into a late-game fight with DK Metcalf as the San Francisco 49ers won 28-16 against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night.

It began when the 49ers linebacker intercepted Drew Lock and looked to progress the ball, but the wide receiver caught up with him and tackled him on a lateral attempt. The two then got into an exchange, causing a bench-clearing scuffle:

Metcalf was ultimately expelled from the game for his role in the fight. But that was not the end of the proceedings.

Warner's wife Sydney then proceeded to condemn Metcalf in a since-deleted Instagram Story that read:

"A piece of TRASHiana."

The night was historic for the two-time All-Pro and Pro Bowler Fred Warner, who surpassed Derek Smith for most consecutive seasons (6) with at least 100 tackles. His teammates Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk also made history of their own, breaking the league record for most rushing touchdowns by a wide receiver and becoming the first SF wideout since 2014 to have consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, respectively.

Sydney Warner: A look at Fred Warner’s wife and their life together

For the uninitiated, Fred Warner has a somewhat famous wife.

Sydney Warner (nee Hightower) first made a name for herself as a contestant on Season 24 of the hit ABC show The Bachelor. She lasted six weeks before being eliminated.

She described her meeting with Warner to Us Weekly as follows:

“He actually sent me an emoji [because] he didn’t think I was gonna respond and that’s why he got really casual, but it was sweet.”

Describing herself and Warner as “criers”, she continued:

“[We’re both] sappy romantics. So we’re just thinking about the moment when I’m walking down and all of that, like, tearjerker stuff.”

They eventually married in June 2022. Late in October, they announced Sydney’s pregnancy with their first child, who has a due date of March 2024.

Besides being a married couple and future parents, they also host their own Tuesday podcast - The Warner House. First premiering in September ahead of the 2023 season, it discusses various topics like the San Francisco 49ers, college football, married life, and more. Warner’s teammates and fellow linebackers Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles and Dre Greenlaw have appeared as guests.
