George Kittle reveals how wife Claire changed TE's mind to do Netflix's "Receiver" after 49ers star's hesitancy

The NFL and Netflix are teaming up again as the streaming platform will host the "Receiver" series in July after its success with the "Quarterback" series last year. The docu-series will give viewers the lens of what it's like to be a pro receiver through the experiences of Justin Jefferson, Davante Adams, Deebo Samuel, Amon-Ra St. Brown and George Kittle.

All of the members of the series are wide receivers, except for Kittle, who plays tight end for the San Francisco 49ers. At first, Kittle was hesitant about being in the series, but some convincing from his wife, Claire, made him opt into doing the show.

"At first, I was a hard, hard no," Kittle said. "I was like, ‘Absolutely not I'm not going to do this.’ I have full faith in, like, the football gods, and it just felt weird.
"My wife, Claire, convinced me to do it. She was like, ‘This thing about, like, in 10 years you can go back and watch it. You can show your kids this stuff.’ I was like, ‘You know what? That's a fantastic selling point,’ and so we agreed to it."

The Netflix series, "Receiver" will premiere on July 10. The series will feature eight 45-minute episodes. A trailer was dropped last week that had fans hyped to tune into the first installment of a series that gives exclusive footage of NFL players.

The series will focus on the lives on and off the field of four star wide receivers and tight end George Kittle. Fans will learn more about their personal lives outside of football.

Two famous quarterbacks are producers of the show: Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes and Hall of Famer Peyton Manning.
