“Get out of there” – LeSean McCoy urges Davante Adams to demand Raiders exit with franchise doing Derek Carr dirty
Davante Adams left Aaron Rodgers for Derek Carr almost one year ago. Many expected the duo to last well into Adams' 30s, but with the quarterback likely on the way out, the duo lasted one season. Giving his two cents on the issue on Speak, LeSean McCoy recommended that the team's best receiver skip town as well. Here's how he put it:
"Get out of there... He should go in there today with a Terrell Owens-type attitude, 'Yeah, trade me. I gotta get out here. First of all, the reason why I'm a Raider is because of Derek Carr. I'm not trying to come to Vegas. For what?"
He continued, explaining that the true motivation behind the receiver's move to Las Vegas was his friendship with the quarterback:
"If I wanted a better quarterback because everybody's saying, 'Oh, well, you might get a better quarterback,' 'I could've stayed in Green Bay and played with Aaron Rodgers, a two-time MVP... I want my best friend.'"
Lastly, he expressed that he had every right to be upset with the team:
"Everyone wants to play with their best friends. That's the best thing about football. You grow a love for the game, but then you do it with your brother. I'm pissed off, and he should be, too."
How well has Raiders WR Davante Adams played with Derek Carr?
At 6-9, the team has locked in a losing season one season after reaching the playoffs with an interim head coach. In his final four seasons with the Packers, Davante Adams was part of three-straight playoff appearances. In his debut season with the Raiders, the team has missed the playoffs.
That said, the wide receiver has been equally as productive in 2022 as in any of the last four years. From 2018-2021, he earned, at least, 990 yards each season. In three of those years, he earned, at least, 1,300 yards. In 2022, with two games left to play, he has earned 1,290 yards and 12 touchdowns. If the season ended tomorrow, he would already have a full season of production.
However, with two games to go, he has the ability to reach a new career record, even if the chances are slim. He would need about 265 yards to break his receiving yardage record.
