Giants GM Joe Schoen's son ignites Jaxson Dart draft rumors with latest Instagram activity

The New York Giants will be one of the premier teams in the 2025 NFL Draft, with Brian Daboll's team holding the third overall pick in the first round. There's a quarterback need for the team, but the 2025 class is not as loaded with passers as in previous years.

Recent reports point to the Giants' discussion about quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who might be picked at #3. However, the franchise also holds the #34 overall pick, putting them in a prime position to move up and pick a passer from the second tier, which includes prospects such as Jaxson Dart (Ole Miss), Jalen Milroe (Alabama) and Tyler Shough (Louisville).

With one day to go before the first round, Carson Schoen, the son of Giants' general manager Joe Schoen, churned the rumor mill. He re-posted a video from Jaxson Dart on his Instagram account, which could be interpreted as a potential sign of how his father's franchise will approach the quarterback position:

Dart's ascension in the 2024 season was notable. The Ole Miss quarterback finished his senior season completing 69.3% of his passes for 4.279 yards and 29 touchdowns, along with six interceptions. He also had three rushing touchdowns and 495 rushing yards, proving himself as a quarterback with the ability to scramble.

Odds of Jaxson Dart going to the Giants are now lower than Shedeur Sanders

In a clear sign of how things are expected to go in the 2025 draft, the Ole Miss quarterback now has better odds of landing in New York than his counterpart from Colorado. Dart sits at +200, while Sanders is +350.

New York is less likely to draft Sanders at #3 after signing with Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency. With Sanders' stock falling heavily through draft season, the Colorado quarterback is now likely to slide outside the top 10.

With Dart being one of the quarterbacks who mostly need to sit a year or two, the Giants will be comfortable with Russell Wilson leading the team. The veteran signed a one-year deal that could be up to $21 million if he clears all incentives.
