Glen Powell takes shots at Eli Manning ahead of 'Chad Powers' show

Actor Glen Powell flamed New York Giants legend Eli Manning upon the quarterback's arrival to Instagram. The two-time Super Bowl champion surprised fans when he joined the platform after several years of using X (formerly Twitter) to hype up the Giants, troll Tom Brady, and other activities.

Powell and Manning have been working together on the upcoming Hulu series "Chad Powers," which began filming this month. It came as a result of the success of one of Manning's sketches for his "Eli's Places" show.

The two-time Super Bowl champion wore a wig and a mustache to attend the Penn State walk-on tryouts. Being a retired professional quarterback, Manning made quite the impression on most coaches who didn't know he was underneath the Powers costume.

Manning's third post on Instagram featured the Spider-Man pointing meme with his and Powell's representation of the fictional character "Chad Powers."

"Will the real Chad Powers please stand up?" Eli captioned the post.

Eli Manning reacts after being inducted into the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame

At the start of August, Eli Manning had more reasons to celebrate besides the new project involving Chad Powers. Following a successful college career at Ole Miss from 1999 to 2003, the play-caller was inducted into the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame.

Talking with 247Sports about this honor, Manning didn't hide his excitement after becoming the second member of his family to get this honor.

"It's a great honor. It's so good to be back in Mississippi," Manning said. "It was such a special part of my life with my time at Ole Miss and my parents being from Mississippi."

Eli's father received the same honor in the 80s.

"I grew up here, visiting, going to Ole Miss games, my grandparents are from Philadelphia ... This is an honor to be inducted into the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame. My father was inducted years ago, but to come in with these inductees this weekend, it's been a lot of fun." (H/T 247Sports)

After his notable run in college, Eli Manning went on to become an NFL legend as he won two Super Bowls and two Super Bowl MVPs with the Giants.
