"He just settled the debate" - NFL fans take notice of Bill Belichick's take on Travis Kelce, Rob Gronkowski
NFL fans believe Bill Belichick settled the debate that Travis Kelce is a better tight end than Rob Gronkowski. The debate has been one many fans have on a regular basis.
During a special for NFL Films on Wednesday, Belichick revealed he used to show Kelce's tape to Gronkowski to get him to improve his break-tackle ability.
Following Belichick's comments, fans on X claimed that Kelce is the better tight end.
"So can patriot fans see that Travis Kelce is the GOAT TE!! Belichick thanks for this," a fan wrote.
"Looks like he just settled the debate here lol," a fan added.
Gronkowski and Kelce are two of the best tight ends ever, but fans believe Belichick's comments end the discussion.
"Oh I’m definitely putting this in my agenda cabinet," a fan wrote.
"Oh no. Pats fans in shambles again," a fan added.
Kelce and Gronkowski are future Hall of Famers and are all-time greats, but Chiefs fans say Kelce is better.
"And Bill ends the TE goat debate just like that," a fan added.
"This instantly makes Kelce > Gronk," a fan wrote.
Although many fans think the debate is over after Belichick's comments, there is no question the debate will continue for years to come.
Kelce is a 10-time Pro Bowler and three-time Super Bowl champion. Gronkowski, meanwhile, is a five-time Pro Bowler and four-time Super Bowl champion.
Rob Gronkowski believes Travis Kelce will continue playing
The future of Travis Kelce has been a major question as he is 35 and has accomplished everything in the NFL.
However, Gronkowski believes Kelce still has a couple of years left to play at a high level.
"I believe he can go at least another two years," Gronkowski said on the Up & Adams Show in December. "The guy has 85-plus catches this year. We're talking about his stats being down—are you kidding me? How are your stats down if you have 80-plus catches at 35 years old? ... It’s just one of those years the ball’s just not going to be thrown to him in the end zone every single time."
Kelce recorded 97 receptions for 823 yards and three touchdowns this season. He and the Chiefs are looking to win their third-straight Super Bowl.
