“He’ll be a great partner” – Raiders owner Mark Davis addresses Tom Brady’s plans for latest venture
Tom Brady has been using his recent retirement to build his brand and investment portfolio. The seven-time Super Bowl champion announced just a few weeks ago that he had bought a stake in the Las Vegas Aces, the reigning WNBA champions.
Brady apparently was intrigued about purchasing into the WNBA team after attending one of their games last year. As an advocate for women's athletics, he apparently contacted Mark Davis, who also owns the Las Vegas Raiders, about buying into the franchise. Seeing it as an opportunity to not only invest in a professional sports team but, also in helping to grow women's professional sports as well.
Davis was asked last week at the NFL meetings about the quarterback's role in the team. While he said that he expects the quarterback to be a great partner, he couldn't divulge too much information.
“He’ll be a great partner.”
Since the purchase of the stake in the Las Vegas Aces is pending WNBA approval, Davis didn't get to reveal details about Tom Brady's role with the team.
He said that he was excited and hoped that this was just the first partnership the two will share. If the sale is approved by the league, the 45-year-old will have the highest stake in the franchise, behind only Davis.
Tom Brady's investments explored
Purchasing a stake in the Las Vegas Aces is just the latest investment that the seven-time Super Bowl champion has made. In 2022, Brady announced his investment in the professional pickleball league. He joined a growing list of professional athletes who are investing in the newest fad that has hit the country.
As the TB12 brand has become a household name, it's where the now-retired quarterback started his portfolio. The wellness program now has brick and mortar locations and a line of supplements that support the healthy lifestyle regimen.
In 2020, Tom Brady also founded 199 Productions, named after his infamous draft selection number. The production company has already produced original content including "The Man in the Arena" docu-series about the quarterback and the recent motion picture "80 for Brady". The company also has other plans for the original series in the near future.
The Brady Brand menswear line has also grown over the last year as it has been endorsed by collegiate athletes and will even be a sponsor on a car in the 24 hours of Le Mans this year.
