"He's our guardian of victory": Jim Harbaugh showers high praise on Justin Herbert after Titans win

The Los Angeles Chargers are rolling under head coach Jim Harbaugh and have won their third straight game after defeating the Tennessee Titans Sunday. The Chargers defended home turf with a 27-17 victory over the Titans, handing Tennessee its seventh loss of the season.

In the win, Chargers' quarterback Justin Herbert made history by completing the most passes (1,772) in a player's first five seasons in the NFL.

For his efforts in Sunday's victory, Harbaugh spoke about Herbert's infectious ability to win, that rubs off and pushes other players to do well on the team on the Pat McAfee Show.

"He's a beast, you know, half man, half beast. He's our guardian of victory, and it's infectious on all of us, you and I, we've all been on teams, right? I mean, you see, you see players when they make plays. You know, really, that the toughness kind of plays, the the you know, it rubs off on you. It puts us, it puts a steel in your spine. Okay, if he can do that, if he's laying it on the line like that, then I can lay it on the line like that."

Under Harbaugh, Chargers currenlty a winning team

The Chargers have only had two winning seasons in the last five campaigns. The Chargers were a winning team in back-to-back seasons in in 2021 and 2022, both under head coach Brandon Staley.

After a 5-9 start in Staley's third season as the team's coach, the team fired him. Interim head coach Gliff Smith finsished the season 0-3.

This offseason, the Chargers inked Harbaugh to become to become their next head coach, who was coming off a national championship in college football with the University of Michigan.

Harbaugh, who led the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl and to a winning record during his tenure, has the Chargers off to a good start in 2024. The Chargers, following their victory over the Titans yesterday, are now 6-3 on the season and are in second place in the AFC West behind the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs. As of right now, Los Angeles looks to be in a good position for an AFC wild card spot.
