"He’s not Mahomes": Bears fans furious after refs miss call as Caleb Williams suffers dangerous blow to head
During Sunday’s Minnesota Vikings vs. Chicago Bears game, rookie quarterback Caleb Williams took an unflagged late hit to the head in the first half.
Few fans were fuming when NFL writer Dov Kleiman pointed out the hit on X.
One Bears fan was upset and wrote,
“He’s not [Patrick] Mahomes or [Josh] Allen."
Meanwhile, a second fan commented,
"If the league really wants to protect players they need to start calling some of this via review. That's dirty."
"Looks like targeting too," a fan said.
In the earlier play in the Bears vs. Vikings clash, Caleb Williams showed flashes of his brilliance from his NCAA football days.
Caleb Williams’ throw on scramble stole the show in the first half
In the first quarter of the game, rookie QB Caleb Williams made a big play on third-and-8.
While the Bears were in their territory, Williams scrambled away from pressure and made a throw for a big gain.
Even though a defender was coming at him, Williams made a perfect pass to keep the drive going. He completed all three passes for 80 yards, including throws to Keenan Allen and DJ Moore.
Taking an early lead over the Minnesota Vikings, the Bears finished the drive with a one-yard TD run by RB Roschon Johnson.
