"He didn't want to be here": Josh Allen's father makes feelings clear about Stefon Diggs' move

Josh Allen's father opened up about Stefon Diggs' exit from the Buffalo Bills after a four-year tenure with the AFC East franchise, during which he formed one of the best tandems in the league alongside the talented quarterback. Diggs' first season with the Houston Texans was cut short due to an injury, but he put up solid performances before going down.

Allen's father considers the Diggs move a positive one because it was better to part ways with a player who didn't want to be there, which he says benefited the Bills, who boast a 10-3 record in a season where not many thought they would compete at the highest level.

“Well, I think it was a positive,” Joel Allen told The New York Post in an interview published Saturday. “Just simply because it didn’t seem like he wanted to be there anymore, and I think (GM Brandon) Beane and (head coach Sean) McDermott are trying to create the culture where we try to develop the chemistry on and off the field."
"And if you can’t have it with every player, then I think they probably need to think about going elsewhere because we’re building something special in western New York, as they say, and everybody’s got to be bought in.”

Instead, Josh Allen and the Bills have one of the best records in the NFL and have already secured the AFC East championship after the New York Jets failed to live up to expectations and the Miami Dolphins were a shell of the team they were last season.

Just like Allen's father shared his thoughts on Diggs leaving the team, the wide receiver also shared his opinion on his former teammate's MVP-caliber season.

Stefon Diggs talks about Josh Allen's impressive 2024 NFL season

While sidelined due to a non-contact knee injury suffered on Oct. 27, Josh Allen took time to talk with fans on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday. A fan asked him about his healing process and touched on Allen's MVP-worthy season, to which Diggs replied that Allen should get the award.

"Hows you healing? Think Josh is gonna get MVP this year?" a fan asked.
"On schedule .... He should, shorty balling fr," Diggs answered.

It seems like there's no bad blood between Diggs and Josh Allen after the wide receiver's latest comments. However, it remains to be seen if Josh’s father’s words will make Diggs feel some type of way and whether the Texans veteran will respond.

The Bills and Texans are competing in the AFC and could clash in the playoffs, although Diggs won't be on the field.
