“He wants to chase the ring” - NFL insider claims Ezekiel Elliott aims to beat Cowboys to a Super Bowl in 2023
Ezekiel Elliott has played his last snap for the Dallas Cowboys. Now, as the running back enters his age 28 season, he will be evaluating how he wants to spend the next several years of his career. Does he want to continue to chase money or get himself a Super Bowl ring?
On "Get Up," NFL analyst Jeff Darlington said that the running back's reported interest in teams means he wants to chase a Super Bowl in 2023. Based on the teams he is interested in, the only way to get to a Super Bowl would be through the Cowboys.
"The interesting thing is going to be how much interest the Eagles, Jets and Bengals ultimately have when it comes to money and interest in Ezekiel Elliott," Darlington said. "But what this tells me is that he wants to play for a contender."
Will Ezekiel Elliot win a Super Bowl in 2023?
Darlington said that Elliott has come to terms with being a backup player:
"It tells me that he's made the money that he believes he can make. He's looking for teams that have some stability at the running back position where he can come in and be a complementary player."
Lastly, Darlington said the running back is looking to get a taste of greatness, even at the cost of a starting role:
"I think that Zeke is at this point in his career where he wants to chase the ring. And those are three teams that, once Aaron Rodgers arrives with the Jets, are certainly capable."

Despite still being under the age of 30, the running back had already spent seven years with the organization. He shone brightest in his opening years and slowly fell off. Between 2016 and 2019, he totaled at least 1,350 yards rushing three times. Over his final three seasons, he ran for more than 1,000 yards just once.
His best NFL season was his first. Paired with rookie quarterback Dak Prescott due to sheer happenstance, Elliott rushed for 1,631 yards and 15 touchdowns. Now, as he enters the twilight of his 20s, speculation mounts as to which jersey he will wear next. Will he jump into the AFC?
