"His pace would outpace Tom Brady": Ex-Saints Super Bowl champ drops bold argument for Patrick Mahomes as GOAT

Former Super Bowl champion Chase Daniel believes it's time to start talking about Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes as the greatest of all time.

Mahomes and the Chiefs defeated the Buffalo Bills on Sunday to win the AFC championship and punch their ticket to the Super Bowl. This will be Mahomes' fifth Super Bowl appearance, and he has a chance to win his fourth ring.

Speaking on "The Facility" on Monday, former Saints quarterback Daniel offered his take on Mahomes' legacy.

"Mahomes is a guy who is on the track, on track to becoming the greatest quarterback of all time," he said. "I don't quite think we understand just how wild it is what Patrick Mahomes is doing. And it not only is in the game of football, but it transcends the game of football. It goes to the NHL, it goes to Major League Baseball. It goes to basketball ... if he wins his fourth championship plus two MVPs before turning 30.

"There is nobody in the NFL history to ever do that ... we're talking about like household, legendary names, and most importantly that none in the NFL is because no one else has done it, like he'd be ahead of Brady. His pace would outpace Brady."

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs will be taking on Jalen Hurts and the Eagles. The Eagles have proven to have a dominant run game throughout the season, built on the back of a solid offensive line, Hurts' own running ability, and MVP-candidate running back Saquon Barkley. This will be a rematch from the pair's initial Super Bowl LVII meeting where the Chiefs bested the Eagles 38-35.

However, should the Chiefs emerge victorious, it will give Mahomes not only his fourth Super Bowl ring but the historic accolade of the "three-peat."

The quarterback enters the Super Bowl riding high on a strong postseason showing, having toppled the Houston Texans and Buffalo Bills en route to New Orleans.
