“How can you admit to sleeping with a minor with no consequences?” – YouTuber slams ‘frustrating’ Matt Araiza verdict

Former NFL punter Matt Araiza is being investigated on suspicion of participating in a gang rape of a minor. The punter is now free of criminal charges after the investigation was completed and no wrongdoing was discovered. The allegations surfaced around the time the punter emerged as a potential NFL star during the preseason.

However, many are disgusted with the result of the investigation, not buying his innocence one bit. Taking to Twitter, YouTuber MMG expressed his frustration with the result. The content creator, who primarily posts Madden content, also alleged that something illegal was done behind the scenes to get the result. Here's how the YouTuber put it:

The Matt Araiza verdict feels very corrupt to me. How can you openly admit to sleeping with a minor with no consequences? Frustrating.

The punter briefly played for the Buffalo Bills in the 2022 preseason. The rookie quickly caught the eye of fans when he boomed an 82-yard punt against the Indianapolis Colts. Given that a touchback is typically followed by a 75-yard field goal, the punt was impressive to most, to put it mildly.

This led to fans calling him "punt god." However, it wasn't the only such punt he's hit in his career. In his final year of college, He had at least five punts of at least 70 yards and two of at least 80 yards, including an 86-yard punt, according to the Aztec's website.

“I am grateful that the District Attorney and the San Diego Police Department have discovered all the facts and found no criminal wrongdoing. I am excited to continue my NFL career.”

The Bills severed ties with him after the allegations surfaced in the late summer of this year. However, now that he has been cleared of all charges, the punter expects to be back in the running to start his NFL career.
