How good was Brittany Mahomes at soccer? Daughter Sterling is already picking up on her skillsĀ
Brittany Mahomes has made a name for herself on social media.
Married to Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes, Brittany proactively promotes fitness and is an entrepreneur herself. However, just like Mahomes is a star QB, Brittany was on her way to becoming a pro soccer star.
Around seven years ago, Brittany Mahomes (Matthews before marriage) was the reigning UT Tyler soccer player during her senior year. Brittany was also willing to pursue the sport professionally.
Her recent focus has been on her career as a personal trainer and fitness entrepreneur. Along with her work, Brittany and Mahomes have often shared photos of their children, Sterling and Bronze.
Judging by the recent posts, it looks like Sterling is following in Brittany's footsteps.
In a few videos shared by the two-time Super Bowl winner, Sterling is seen on the field as she makes her way to the goal. Though the two-year-old is just getting started, Brittany and Mahomes seemed equally excited. Brittany also shared another clip of Sterling, where the latter is practicing some skills by a blue chair.
Why did Brittany Mahomes quit playing soccer professionally?
After a few years of playing soccer professionally, Brittany quit and focused on her other businesses. She tied the knot with Patrick Mahomes, who is one of the best QBs in the league. Furthermore, Brittany was also a cheerleader before playing soccer professionally.
"After high school I went to play soccer at UT Tyler and I literally just fell in love with soccer all over again. I was playing with my best friends, you know. I was getting led by these amazing girls," Brittany explained in an interview.
It was her senior year that really tipped the scales, motivating her enough to break the record for most hat-tricks scored in one season. As media attention increased, Brittany also learned how to deal with the pressure with Patrick Mahomes.
After school, Brittany followed her friend to Iceland to play. In Iceland, however, she realized that her passions lay elsewhere:
"My passion was in fitness and helping others and even through college and when I came back to America."
With her friends looking at her for tips and guidance, Brittany started setting up workout routines and choosing a completely different line of work.
