Hester holds the NFL record for most returns for a touchdown on special teams with 20 total returned touchdowns (14 punts, five kickoffs, one missed field goal).
His 14 punt return touchdowns are an NFL record. He also has the most returns for a touchdown in a single season with six in 2007.
Today, Atlanta Falcons return man and offensive special gadget, Cordarrelle Patterson set the NFL record for most kickoff returns for touchdowns with nine as he took a 103-yard return to the house versus the Chicago Bears.

Hester has 295 kickoff returns for 7,333 yards and five touchdowns. He averages 24.9 yards per kick return. His most notable kickoff return for a touchdown came on the first play in the Super Bowl versus the Indianapolis Colts.
In the post-season, he has 15 kick-off returns for 428 yards and a touchdown, while averaging 28.5 yards per return.
Is Devin Hester in the Hall of Fame?
Devin Hester is currently not in the Hall of Fame.
In 2021, he became elgible for the first time in his career to be elected to the Hall of Fame. Unfortunately, for Hester, he didn't become a first-ballot Hall of Famer but will have the chance to join Canton next off-season.
Many thought Hester should have gotten in on the first try since he is dubbed as the best return man in NFL history. Time will tell when Hester will be elected to the Hall of Fame, but it shouldn't take that long.
