"Hurts me so much": Braxton Berrios' girlfriend Alix Earle opens up about WR's struggles following season-ending injury
Braxton Berrios found himself with a season-ending injury during the Miami Dolphins' Week 7 clash against the Indianapolis Colts. The wide receiver tore his ACL and is currently undergoing a recovery phase, with which his girlfriend Alix Earle has been helping him a lot.
Alix Earle made an appearance on the "Great Company" podcast on Wednesday. During the podcast, Earle shed light on Braxton Berrios' struggles at home following his season-ending injury. Talking about how he was "really broken down" after the ACL tear, Earle said:
"It's hard to hear and find out that he got hurt and then just being with him the first two weeks of his recovery and to see him be really broken down about this. He's so motivated and always like, 'go go go'. And he's very routine. So for him to like have to sit in bed all day and then like be on crutches and can't even walk to the bathroom."
"Seeing him get so frustrated with that hurt me so much just cause like I felt so bad for him. But he's doing really good now. I'm just trying to be positive reinforcement, some good entertainment. I like got his checkers and Rubik's cubes, I'm like 'this is great like let's take up checkers'. Like we don't even need to leave the bed." (16:31)
Braxton Berrios' girlfriend Alix Earle opened up about battles with anxiety
Before talking about Braxton Berrios' struggles with ACL recovery, Alix Earle opened up about her own anxiety issues. Earle confessed how she has been suffering from anxiety since her high school days. Talking about the same, the podcaster said:
"I have diagnosed anxiety so I'm on Lexapro every day and without the Lexapro I don't think I could have coffee." (1:20)
“I guess I've been on it for so long now that I kind of forget that I'm on it. I started it when I was a freshman in high school, so 14-15 years old. And I was a little hesitant at first as well because I was like I don't want to have to rely on something for my anxiety. I was like 'I can do it on my own'. I mean I was so stubborn with medication,” Earle further added. (1:49)
Braxton Berrios and Alix Earle have been dating for more than a year. During an episode of the "Hot Mess" podcast last week, Braxton revealed the secret sauce to maintaining a healthy relationship.
