“I don’t approve”: Cam Newton gets candid on Bill Belichick dating Jordon Hudson as ex-Patriots QB Mac Jones picks sides in debate
Bill Belichick has been in the news pretty often of late, for myriad reasons. It's been a pretty eventful year for the former New England Patriots head coach, to say the least. Since his appearance on Netflix's 'Greatest Roast of All Time' with Robert Kraft, Tom Brady, Julian Edelman, Randy Moss, and Rob Gronkowski, Belichick has opened up a little. So much so that his relationship with his 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson has also become public.
Now of course there were more than a few people passing judgment on the age gap between the Patriots legend and his girlfriend. Belichick, however, has never been one to pay too much attention to outside noise.
This week at the 2024 ESPYs, though, two of his former pupils added to the noise around his relationship. Both Cam Newton and Mac Jones were in attendance at the event, in different capacities. But the former NFL MVP happened to catch Jones for a minute just before the event began. Naturally, the subject of Belichick's dating life came up (thanks mainly to Cam Newton's question).
Here's how the conversation went:
Cam Newton: “Your former coach. His dating choice right now. What are we doing. Do we approve?”
Mac Jones: “I need hear your opinion first.”
Cam: “No, I don’t approve. I’m not even gonna lie.”
Mac Jones: “Hey bro, good for him.”
Bill Belichick spotted spending 4th of July weekend with his girlfriend Jordon Hudson
The Patriots legend was spotted on a bicycle ride with his new girlfriend in Nantucket over the Fourth of July weekend. The couple spent the weekend together and seemingly took several pictures.
In hindsight, we should've known what Rob Gronkowski was talking about when, at Tom Brady's roast, he said:
“Coach, you used to talk about Foxborough High School when we sucked. But now I know why you were so obsessed with Foxborough High School: you were scouting your new girlfriend.”
In any case, it appears Belichick's age gap with his new girlfriend has not won him too many admirers.
Three-time Super Bowl champion Mark Schlereth had this to say upon hearing word of Belichick's relationship on his Stinkin' Truth podcast:
"I think he’s a pig. That’s disgusting … That’s just awful. What are you doing? Plus, you just look like an absolute clown. What is wrong with you? He was 48 when she was born. She was a baby, and he was 48.”
