Nick Wright claims stunning Tom Brady Patriots reunion in 2023 remains a farfetched idea - “I don’t see that happening”

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady will be a free agent after this season and is predicted to join a new team. Many teams would love to have Brady and a reunion with the New England Patriots might also be on the cards.

The Patriots looked good with Mac Jones as their quarterback last season, but haven't been the same team this time around. Coach Bill Belichick would love the idea of having Brady back as the current Patriots team is heading nowhere.

However, Nick Wright believes that Brady will not return to the Patriots since the franchise does not have a roster capable of winning.

Here's what Nick Wright said about the idea of Brady returning to the New England Patriots next season:

"Right now the Patriots are the worst team in the AFC East, in the present and future. They're the worst. The Patriots have been held back by their quarterback as well, to be fair,"

Nick Wright continued:

"If you're Tom Brady, you're like hold on a second. I was with the Patriots team, my last year there, they didn't have dynamic weapons other than Julian Edelman, he had no receivers of note, no tight ends of note."

He added:

"So the idea to go back to New England when he immediately became a better player from his last year in New England to his first two years in Tampa, based on the weapons alone, I don't see that happening and I think that is an increasingly difficult division."

The Patriots have looked worse than all the other teams in the AFC East, and have no star players on the offensive end. This is one of the reasons why Mac Jones hasn't been able to take a leap and it is unlikely that Brady would want such a situation around him.

Over the course of Brady's career with the Patriots, the AFC East wasn't one of the most competitive divisions in the NFL. That isn't the case anymore as the Buffalo Bills, New York Jets, and the Miami Dolphins are all capable of making the Super Bowl.

The Patriots don't have the advantage over other teams in their division, and as a result, the player might not look to go back there. He is looking to win another Super Bowl, and other teams that have a much better shot than the Patriots to make the it the final destination for Brady.

Something you don't see everyday: Starting offensive tackle publicly supports replacing his current QB.

#Patriots Trent Brown liked a post saying the team should replace Mac Jones with Tom Brady or Jimmy Garoppolo. https://t.co/cgaCvNIS1o

Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Tom Brady and the Patriots.
