“I got DK Speed” – DK Metcalf did not stutter when asked about being faster than Tyreek Hill
Currently with the Seattle Seahawks, WR DK Metcalf is a man of many talents. The 25-year-old recently secured the MVP title at the NBA's 2023 Celebrity All-Star Game, with fans sharing his clips from the event. Metcalf, of course, has always been confident in his abilities and talent.
While on "Club Shay Shay" with Shannon Sharpe, the two athletes discussed speed and how fast DK Metcalf can go.
"You could outrun Tyreek?" Sharpe asked.
Metcalf continued to shake his head, confident that he could beat Hill, who is currently with the Miami Dolphins. Sharpe, who was himself surprised, asked Metcalf if he really meant Hill, the Dolphins' WR, wearing No. 10.
"You can give him ten more nicknames," Metcalf said. "It's still going to be the same person to me. I got a different type of speed. That's just, I got a DK speed. Just like cheetah. Cheetah speed. I got DK speed. That's just me".
Toward the end, Sharpe asked Hill to respond to Metcalf.
In his response, Hill bet on $50,000, offering it to any charity Metcalf chooses if he wins.
"Put up 50K and the money goes to any charity you want if you win!!!," Hill said. "I DM you and you was scared. I got receipts".
What is DK Metcalf's vertical
That being said, Metcalf's athleticism impressed everyone at the Celebrity All-Star Game, and even earned him the MVP honor. This included his dunking skills, which went viral after the game.
Having said that, his vertical during the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine was recorded to be 40.5 inches.
Before the game, users were also sharing a video of him dunking, whose credibility was in doubt. In the short clip, Metcalf jumps high in the air before catching the ball with one hand. Shortly after the video went viral, Metcalf dunked in the NBA All-Star game.
