“I hate how it ended”: Josh Allen rues Stefon Diggs’ Bills breakup

Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs formed a quality offensive partnership that terrified NFL defenses for four seasons. However, the lethal partnership was broken earlier in the offseason and the QB didn’t mince his words when talking about his former wide receiver.

The Buffalo Bills and Diggs failed to reach an agreement regarding the WR’s contract length. That said, they parted ways and Diggs went to the Houston Texans in a blockbuster summer deal. On Monday, Allen appeared on the ‘Green Light with Chris Long’ podcast where he reminisced about his days with Diggs.

“Even going back to last year, we had a lot of fun too," said Allen. “I know that people can say what they want to say but we had a lot of success and a lot of fun doing it on and off the field. We were very much like this. So, I hate how it ended but at some point, everything comes to an end.”

Allen further commented that despite their different allegiances now, he will always have a special admiration for Stefon Diggs.

“[31:45 ] I'll cherish those moments forever and again he did so much for me in my football career. He helped me become the player that I am, and I’ll always respect him and love him for that,” Allen said.

Their teams will face off in a Week 5 matchup. As Allen travels to Houston, he will meet his friend once again, albeit in a different jersey.

Josh Allen thinks the Bills can do without Stefon Diggs

While the QB will miss his friend, he highlighted on the podcast that the team may not need Diggs after all. Allen contended that tactically the game has evolved, and they might not require the four-time Pro Bowl WR’s services this season.

“He was so good for us here, but the nature of what football is now it's a lot of zone, a lot of two high," added Allen. “Especially when teams play us. Because when they're playing man; eyes aren't on the quarterback if you have a mobile quarterback that's risky right? So, it's a lot of zone.”

The Bills fans are hoping that Josh Allen’s assessment is accurate come the regular season and beyond.
