"I keep that fire in him going": Patrick Mahomes' wife Brittany on how the Chiefs QB maintains his competitive spirit
Before Patrick Mahomes and Brittany moved to Kansas City to begin their new life, the latter was a professional soccer athlete. After playing for years, Brittany left her sport since she wanted to focus on fitness and other career options.
However, her competitiveness comes in handy when Mahomes needs it.
In a podcast appearance with WHOOP, Brittany said how being a former professional athlete has helped them.
"I think it definitely helps to have that competitiveness and all of that, you know, and it's engraved in me, in my background. I think it definitely helps to have someone like that around you,' Brittany said.
She added that she is somehow more competitive than the Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback.
"... I think I kind of keep that fire in him going just because I'm a little bit more fiery than he is. But I think it helps a lot to have someone you know like that beside you, especially if you're a professional athlete. [3:16]
