“I'm the furthest thing from a Trump supporter” – Micah Parsons apologises after lashing out at President Biden following Brittney Griner's release
Who would have thought that on Thursday, December 8, Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons would be apologizing to President Joe Biden? Well, it happened.
It was announced this morning that WNBA superstar Brittney Griner would be returning home to the U.S. after a prison swap for Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout.
On February 17, 2022, Griner was arrested on smuggling charges in Russia for trying to sneak in vaporized pens containing THC and hash oil.
Micah Parsons reacted to the news and then issued an apology following his comments on Griner and President Joe Biden.
Parsons Tweeted:
"My last tweet was no shot at Brittney Griner. I’m super happy she’s back home as she should be. I just have family who have served and it’s crazy to me the President wouldn’t bring him home too. I’m the furthest thing from a trump supporter but I’m not a fan of Biden either."
This was in response to Parsons' initial Tweet of him figuring out that Griner was sent home but not Ret. Marine Paul Whelan.
Parsons has family in the military, so he was upset that President Biden was unable to bring Paul Whelan home despite trying so.
Parsons then tweeted that he should have been more educated on the topic rather than the outcome.
He tweeted:
"Just spoke to some people that I respect and trust. I should have been more educated on the topic and not tweeted out of emotion for my family and other who have served. For that I apologize. Also if what I’m told about the attempts to bring Ret Marine Paul Whelan home are true."
Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys host the Houston Texans this Sunday in a showdown of Texas football
Parsons will shift his focus off of the Brittney Griner topic as he faces the Houston Texans this Sunday.
Dallas opened up as the 16.5. point favorite and will look for another dominating victory. In the past three weeks, they have outscored their opponents 122-50 while winning three straight and five out of their last six games.
The Houston Texans, on the other hand, are having quite the opposite season. They started the season 1-3-1, and have lost seven straight since.
Micah Parsons and Dallas will look to put on another clinic and claim themselves as one of the top contenders in the NFC.
