'I might regret this' - Rihanna reveals thought behind accepting Super Bowl halftime show

Rihanna is poised to have all eyes on her during the Super Bowl halftime show this weekend. On Sunday night, most of the world will be watching the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles play and they won't leave their seats when the Grammy-winning artist comes on stage.

Speaking about her decision to do the big game, she said:

"It feels like it could have only been now. When I first got the call, I was like ‘you sure?’ . Should I be making major decisions right now, I might regret this. But when you become a mom you feel like you can do anything. As scary as it is, the Super Bowl, there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all. It’s important for me, for representation, for my son to see that."

Rihanna's pre-game interview revealed her true thoughts on the opportunity. It's arguably a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, as evidenced by the fact that the veteran singer, who has performed countless concerts, is nervous about it.

She did say, however, that her nerves weren't as important as it was to do this show. Representation is important to the singer who wants her new son to see her perform in arguably the biggest capacity of her career.

It's perhaps the biggest concert of the entire year for America, so Rihanna knows the pressure is on. She admitted that it was scary, but that the challenge excites her.

What time will Rihanna perform the Super Bowl halftime show?

Though the Super Bowl festivities preclude the beginning of the game, it always starts at about 6:30 pm EST. At that time, one kicker will be kicking off to the other team's returner and the game will commence.

Ordinarily, an NFL game lasts about three hours in total. Since the big game is predicated on having a ton of advertisements airing for the first time, there are a lot of commercial breaks.

As a result, everything takes longer. While two and a half hours would normally be enough to get close to the end of the game, it might be enough to get to halftime for the Super Bow.

Rihanna will likely perform between 8:30 and 9:00 pm EST.
