“I am officially over Odell Beckham Jr.” – Skip Bayless claims free agent WR played Cowboys despite Dallas’ wine and dine effort
Odell Beckham Jr. was rumored to be on the verge of signing with the Dallas Cowboys, but things have changed dramatically.
OBJ's medical with the Cowboys revealed that he may not be ready until the 2023 season. It was a huge setback for the Cowboys, who were desperate to get the star receiver on their team.
After the revelation of Odell Beckham Jr's health, lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan Skip Bayless has now claimed that he doesn't want his team to go after OBJ anymore.
Here's what Skip Bayless said about Odell Beckham Jr. on the latest episode of UNDISPUTED:
"I am now officially over Odell and I'm officially out. We got played, we got strung along, we as in that whole locker room and Jerry and Steven and me and everybody else, leap to the conclusion that we were talking about Odell playing right here right now."
Skip Bayless added:
"I know, he's trying to get to eat healthier. Alright, well, again, and then the next concern was, wait. He won't even work out for Dallas. No, no, he won't run at all. Really? He won't work out. I thought he could have been a Super Bowl catalyst. He could be a good luck charm..."
He continued:
"I told you I'm not begrudging him, the Odell over America tour because he got re recruited just like you get recruited in high school. And I'm sure it was fun for him.. all of a sudden I'm reading five weeks. Well, no, we're talking about 2023 now."
Jerry Jones is not known for taking such gambles when it comes to the Cowboys, and as a result, many believe that OBJ will not come to Dallas.
The Cowboys would have certainly benefited from the acquisition of Odell as he was the perfect fit for their dynamic offense. It will be interesting to see how the situation plays out.
Where should Odell Beckham Jr. sign?
Teams like the Buffalo Bills and the New York Giants are still in the race to sign OBJ. If Dallas completely pulls themselves out of this race, we could see Odell Beckham Jr. signing with any of those teams.
The Buffalo Bills would be the best fit for him as they are a legit Super Bowl contender. OBJ will benefit from playing alongside Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, while Josh Allen will be throwing him darts throughout the game.
Buffalo will be the best situation for him as it will enable him to ease through the conditioning process when he makes his return to the field.
