Cooper Kupp's presence in the game was special for Rams fans, considering there were strong trade rumors around the wide receiver. Kupp's trade deadline is November 5 and his 4-game absence sparked speculations that the Rams were planning to trade him. The Rams head coach recently talked about the same with the media.
Sean McVay hinted that Cooper Kupp will remain with the Rams
Cooper Kupp played a significant role in the Los Angeles Rams TNF win over the Minnesota Vikings. The wide receiver caught a total of 5 passes for 51 yards and scored a touchdown. Thursday's win changed Kupp's trade scenario. Following the game, head coach Sean McVay shared his expectations with Cooper Kupp's trade, saying (per CBS Sports):
"Here's what I'll tell you. Teams reached out, some of the things that I've seen out there, they are just not true. We've addressed that with those individuals. Teams have called about him, and really we let him know what the dialogue was there, and then there's a lot of stuff out there where there's not a lot of accountability to the reports, and that's unfortunate."
"I don't think about those things, I think about coaching our team. I think a lot of the things that were out there, speculation, was ... exactly what that was: speculation. We're an inside-out organization, I'm really glad to have Cooper Kupp back with us, and that's what I expect to stay that way," Kupp further added.
Sean McVay doesn't hold the ultimate power to decide Cooper Kupp's future with the Rams. However, his statement did reflect that there's a good chance for the wide receiver to remain with the Rams.
