IN PHOTOS: Jaguars star Mac Jones and girlfriend Sophie enjoy Thanksgiving
Quarterback Mac Jones and his girlfriend Sophie Scott enjoyed their first Thanksgiving in Jacksonville, Florida. As the Jacksonville Jaguars prepare to host the Houston Texans on Sunday afternoon, Jones and Scott took time to celebrate Thanksgiving together along with their dog Rose.
Scott shared details of their Thanksgiving together with posts on Instagram story. She first shared a glimpse of their morning plans, which, of course, included watching the annual "Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade."
Sophie Scott then shared another photo, which included her Thanksgiving Day outfit in a mirror selfie. It was a matching sweater and skirt combination in a light tan, which she paired with brown boots.
In another photo, Mac Jones can be seen driving to their Thanksgiving Day destination while holding their dog Rose on his lap. Scott added a caption across the photo saying that she was "Thankful."
Sophie Scott took the opportunity to take a selfie with Rose while sitting in the passenger seat of the car on the way to their destination.
QB Mac Jones isn't expected to start Sunday vs. Texans
Mac Jones was traded by the New England Patriots this past offseason after struggling as a starting quarterback. He has been the backup to starter Trevor Lawrence with the Jaguars this season. In Weeks 10 and 11 though, Jones started both games as Lawrence dealt with a shoulder injury.
It was unclear if the shoulder injury would hinder Lawrence's ability to finish the remainder of the 2024 NFL season. On Friday, that question was unanswered, as the Jaguars aren't confident that Lawrence will start in Week 13 against the Houston Texans.
Lawrence has returned to practice at a full capacity and told reporters that he expects to play this week.
"I'm hoping I'm back out there this week. It would be great. That's what I want. I want to be back on the field playing with my teammates, and that's the plan," Lawrence said.
In four appearances this season, which includes two starts, Mac Jones has completed 37-of-60 passes for a total of 277 yards and has thrown three interceptions. Jones hasn't recorded a passing touchdown this season but has rushed for a touchdown.
