Jake Funk and his wife Hannah Ann Sluss celebrated their wedding reception on Saturday, a few weeks after the couple married in Italy on June 15. The newlyweds enjoyed their honeymoon there before heading back to Miami for the reception.
On Monday, Hannah Ann Sluss took to Instagram to share some behind-the-scenes pictures of the dazzling celebrations with her new husband. The 'Bachelor' star was also interviewed by PEOPLE before the reception, during which she shared her plans.
Hannah Ann Sluss explained that the wedding reception turned out differently from what she had planned over the years. Sluss realized she needed to throw a colorful and big party, and that's exactly what she did.
"It's a huge celebration, so it's definitely not subdued. We have a full team setting it all up. The Petal Production team was amazing. And I just told them while I'm in Europe, just figure it out. I trust you guys. So it's probably going to be a little bit of a surprise, honestly, what they end up doing," Sluss said via PEOPLE.
The newlyweds wanted to give a nod to their respective hometowns, so they served Tennessee whiskey and Maryland crab cake. These items were served beside a sprawling paella buffet, as the main course.
Hannah Ann Sluss wore a short Jaxon James mini-dress, while her husband was styled a Miami-esque suit. Sluss confessed that she wanted to "shine like a diamond", saying:
"I really wanted to shine like a diamond. "This reception is special because it's the first time our friends will see us married and wearing our rings. We're excited to share that moment. Jake even flew out his favorite DJ from LA for the occasion."
Hannah Ann Sluss reveals the reason behind keeping the wedding intimate
On June 15, Hannah Ann Sluss and Jake Funk exchanged vows in an intimate wedding ceremony in Italy. It was a private ceremony conducted at a 20th-century old castle in Tuscany. During an interview with PEOPLE, Sluss revealed the reason behind keeping the wedding an intimate event.
"We decided it would just be us and to really focus on the commitment and significance of marriage. It's easy to get caught up in all the glitz and glam. So having our wedding just for us made the most sense and made it meaningful," Sluss had said.
After the wedding, the newlyweds spent their honeymoon at the castle, where they were married before exploring Italy together.
