IN PHOTOS: Lions RB Jake Funk marries The Bachelor's Hannah Ann Sluss in an intimate ceremony in Italy

The wedding bells rang for Detroit Lions running back Jake Funk as he married fiancée Hannah Ann Sluss in an intimate ceremony in Tuscany, Italy. The couple broke the news through a joint Instagram post with People, attached with pictures from their big day.

The wedding was a close-family-only ceremony held at a 20th-century castle in Tuscany on June 15. Talking to People, the "Bachelor" star said the reason behind keeping the wedding intimate instead of making it a big bang.

"We decided it would just be us and to really focus on the commitment and significance of marriage," Sluss said. "It's easy to get caught up in all the glitz and glam. So having our wedding just for us made the most sense and made it meaningful."

As for the destination, the couple explained how they wanted to arrange the ceremony somewhere they had already been to. But despite spending almost two summers in Italy, Sluss never visited Tuscany until she finally decided to get married to her fiancé there.

Considering that Tuscany is a new destination for the newlyweds, the two are all set to explore the gorgeous city of Italy. As for their honeymoon, Hannah Ann Sluss and Jake Funk revealed plans for Switzerland before heading back home to Miami for "a big reception party" with family and friends next month.

"We are doing two in one, which made sense for us. We could just knock both of those out and then not have to wait until after football season to have an actual honeymoon," Jake Funk said via PEOPLE.

Hannah Ann Sluss, who loves cooking, joked how she wanted to start her marriage by teaching her husband "how to cook" during their time in Italy. The two would explore the food in Italy and take up some cooking classes.

Jake Funk and Hannah Ann Sluss' wedding outfits were a tribute to RB's father

For her wedding day, Hannah Ann Sluss went with a white custom-made dress from a brand called The Wedding Studio. Interestingly, Sluss had her wedding dress purchased when Funk played for the Colts and the couple were living in Indianapolis.

As for Jake Funk, the Lions RB went with a classic black tuxedo from a brand called The Gentleman's Playbook. The couple also exchanged wedding rings, which had their initials engraved on the inside. It was a tribute to Funk's father, who had done the same on his wedding day.

"It was a way to honor his dad and continue that tradition. I thought it was really special because often there are many customizations for girls, but for a guy, this was a deep gesture," Sluss said.

Jake Funk and Hannah Ann Sluss are excited to return to Miami and celebrate the biggest event of their lives with friends and family. As for the wedding, it came almost a year after the two exchanged rings in January 2023 in Cabo, San Lucas.
