IN PHOTOS: Patrick Mahomes and Brittany have a blast celebrating one year anniversary
Brittany and Patrick Mahomes wed in Hawaii on March 12, 2022, and they recently celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary. Brittany shared pictures from her night out with the two-time NFL MVP. Through her Instagram story, she talked about her husband as they got ready to enjoy their anniversary.
Brittany said:
“1 year married to my best friend."
The high school sweethearts first met back when they were teenagers at Whitehouse High School in Texas in 2012. He was a sophomore and she was a junior. Naturally, they attended prom together before a possible stumbling block entered the equation.
The future Mrs. Mahomes attended the University of Texas at Tyler to play soccer after graduation. Patrick Mahomes graduated from high school a year later and chose to attend Texas Tech University to play college football. Despite the distance, the young pair managed to make their relationship work.
In 2017, both Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews became professional athletes. Brittany signed with the Icelandic professional soccer team Afturelding/Fram after graduating from college. The Kansas City Chiefs drafted Patrick with the 10th overall pick of the 2017 NFL draft.
Three years later, the former Texas Tech star proposed to his high school sweetheart after the Chiefs Super Bowl ring ceremony. The two-time All-Pro confessed in an interview with KCSP 610 Radio that proposing to Brittany was nerve wreaking.
Mahomes said:
"You don't think it's going to be nerve-wracking, especially when you've been with someone for so long, but before you get on that knee, your heart's racing, I promise you that."
For the power couple, a family was soon on the horizon as their future would now include children.
How many kids do Patrick Mahomes and Brittany have?
The couple first welcomed daughter Sterling Skye back in February 2021 and later son Patrick "Bronze" Lavon Mahomes III last November. Both the Chiefs star and his entrepreneur wife are enjoying being parents as they've shared family photos across their social media.
Also, Brittany is never afraid to go on social media and support her husband and the Chiefs.
The co-owner of the NWSL soccer team, the Kansas City Current, called out ESPN NFL analyst Bart Scott for doubting the Chiefs before the start of last season:
All things considered, Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany's love story runs deep and doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon.
