IN PHOTOS: Patrick Mahomes and former Chiefs QB Chad Henne reunite in special Subway commercial
The NFL offseason is well underway, and that means commercials; for Chad Henne and Patrick Mahomes, it's Subway commercials.
Henne, a former Kansas City Chiefs quarterback who spent four years as Mahomes' backup, retired at the end of last season as a two-time Super Bowl champion.
While still fresh out of the game, Mahomes did a Subway commercial with the now retired quarterback, posting several pictures of the behind-the-scenes shoot. Take a look below.
The pair appear, at least from the outside, to be having some serious fun shooting the Subway commercial. It's like they haven't been apart for that long.
Having played every season together since 2018, it is clear that the pair have built up an incredible relationship both on and off the field. Who can forget when Henne stepped in for the injured Mahomes in the playoffs and led the Chiefs to victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars?
Some have stated that due to Henne's efforts, he is one of the main reasons the Chiefs went on to win the Super Bowl.
Patrick Mahomes enjoying break as road to the Super Bowl defense begins
The Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles, 38-35, in the Super Bowl last year. It looks like Mahomes is enjoying his time off from the "proper" football activities that accompany an NFL offseason.
After a grueling season, players will take time away from football-related activities before OTA's and training camp begins in a few months.
For Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, the long road to defending their Super Bowl title has likely already begun with the signing of players to strengthen the team. We know how hard it is to repeat as Super Bowl champs.
If there's a team that can, it's the Chiefs. While some may think that Mahomes' head isn't in the game due to his Subway commercial, time will tell once the season gets going.
For now, Mahomes is enjoying life and that means making Subway commercials with one of his closest friends in Henne.
