Tim Tebow's wife Demi recalled terrifying incident after winning Miss Universe
A year before Tim Tebow and his wife Demi met, she was crowned Miss South Africa 2017. Just months after winning the coveted pageant, Demi faced a terrifying ordeal back home in South Africa. She recalled the details of a carjacking that she experienced while promoting her new book, "A Crown that Lasts."
She told FOX News:
"Shortly after I won Miss South Africa on March 26, 2017, about three months later, I was on my way to an event as the official Miss South Africa and I was stopped at a red traffic light. And before I could even blink, I was surrounded by five men, by multiple men, and some of them were armed."
She went on to say that her father encouraged her to take self-defense classes which came into play as she punched the assailant in the throat. That decision gave her time to run from the harrowing incident.
Demi Tebow said that she was able to run away from the attack but, that even though she was on a crowded road, it took her a while to find someone to help her.
