IN PHOTOS: Trevor Lawrence's wife Marissa begins countdown to due date in maternity photoshoot
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence may no longer be able to contend for a playoff spot, but he will enter January preparing to embrace a new title: father. On Monday, his wife Marissa reshared images from a recent maternity/photo shoot that the couple did with photographer Katie Wilson.
In the images below, she wears a black dress accentuating her baby bump (it has even become her new profile picture). The caption reads:
"I can't wait to be your mommy (black heart emoji)"
Marissa's pregnancy was first announced in June this year. The following month, they revealed at a gender party that they were expecting to be parents to a daughter.
How did Trevor Lawrence's wife Marissa react to his debilitating Week 13 hit?
During the Week 13 game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans, fans were treated to a horrifying sight when Trevor Lawrence was hit in the head by linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair as he slid for a first down.
This incident sparked a massive brawl between both sides while the quarterback lay unconscious. He was eventually helped off the field and placed on injured reserve.
Three days later, he and his wife Marissa provided updates via X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram stories.
"Thank you for all the texts and prayers. (white heart emoji) just taking time to make sure he's okay and get healthy but we appreciate all the support and love," Marissa Lawrence posted on her Instagram Stories
Days later, Marissa thanked fans for sending "get well soon" gifts:
"So thankful for our community. We have had our neighbors show up with gifts. Some get-well cards from the kids in the community and our relationships with nonprofits. Home cooked meals from sweet chef V and lots of messages and prayers. So grateful for this Jax community and all the love. Thank you guys." - via Marissa Lawrence's Instagram Stories
Trevor Lawrence entered that game with an injured shoulder (sustained in Week 9, which would have required surgery). Two days later, he was placed on injured reserve, but Sports Illustrated's John Shipley argued that it was for the best, given the loss of stakes in their remaining games.
Last Sunday, the Jaguars eliminated the Tennessee Titans from playoff contention with a 10-6 win in their first game since the development.
