Is Andy Reid retiring? Chiefs Super Bowl-winning HC addresses future

The Kansas City Chiefs and coach Andy Reid dominated headlines during Super Bowl week. It was Patrick Mahomes' ankle injury that sent a scare through the Chiefs camp, and it was also Reid's potential retirement talk that raised eyebrows too.

As the Chiefs secured their second Super Bowl win in four years, attention turned to the podium post-game to see what Reid was going to do or say about his coaching future.

Well, we now know that he isn't going anywhere, and why would he after he just won the Super Bowl?

So, the Chiefs staff that led them to a Super Bowl victory will be coming back in 2023, although it remains to be seen if several assistants find work at different teams over the next few weeks.

As for Reid, the cheeseburger-loving coach will be back at ArrowHead and is no doubt celebrating right now while also figuring out how to go back-to-back in 2023.

Coming out of the tunnel, though, Kansas City went about their business and put on a show, scoring touchdowns on three consecutive drives to somehow take the lead.

Jalen Hurts, who was the star for the losing Eagles, scored yet another touchdown and scored the two-point conversion to tie the game, but Mahomes salted away the clock. That led Harrison Butker to have a kick to win the Super Bowl with seconds left. And he did it.

The Chiefs won 38-35 in what was a game for the ages. Mahomes was named the Super Bowl MVP, completing 21 of his 27 passes for 182 yards and three touchdowns.

Tight end Travis Kelce won the Kelce bowl, catching six passes for 81 yards and a touchdown. Running back Isiah Pacheco rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.

For the Eagles, Hurts (27/38 for 304 yards, one touchdown and 70 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries) was the star.

A great year for Philadelphia ended on a sour note as the Chiefs and Mahomes celebrate their win while also celebrating coach Andy Reid coming back for another year.
