Is Cooper Kupp playing tonight vs. the Packers? Injury update and fantasy outlook for the Rams WR
Cooper Kupp suffered an ankle injury several weeks ago against the Arizona Cardinals and was placed on injured reserve. That was four weeks ago, which is the minimum time spent on IR required to return to play. In theory, he could have been available to return tonight for the Monday Night Football game against the Green Bay Packers.
The Rams aren't completely eliminated from the postseason just yet, but they are treading on thin ice. Any misstep would sink their title defense immediately. They would need all hands on deck to help Baker Mayfield tonight.
Is Cooper Kupp playing tonight?
According to all reports, the wide receiver will not be returning tonight. In fact, a return this season isn't likely at all. His ankle injury hasn't healed and despite the ever so slight potential for a playoff berth, it's probably not worth the risk.
The Rams will have to do without their top wide receiver once again, as they have for a while. That may be their entire reality this season.
Cooper Kupp Fantasy Update and Predictions
No one in the fantasy playoffs this week should be starting Kupp. The wide receiver will not play tonight and may not be able to make an impact on the championship at all.
He won't record any points so hoping for a big performance to turn the tide of a matchup is unwise.
Cooper Kupp Alternate Picks for your Fantasy Team
With Kupp out, the alternative options are slim. This is made even more true by the fact that this is a Monday night game. The rest of the teams have already played.
Van Jefferson has played well and recently did really well with Baker Mayfield and is projected to score 9.2. He's only owned in 24.8% of ESPN leagues.
His teammate, Tutu Atwell, is projected to score 9.6 and is only owned 3.3% of leagues. Either one of those players could be in for a big game against the struggling Packers.
If fantasy owners need a miracle, those two might be long shots, but they are worth consideration.
