Is Mark Wahlberg a Baker Mayfield fan? Hollywood star made stunning prediction linking new Bucs QB with Tom Brady
At one point in time, Tom Brady's successor was supposed to be Jimmy Garoppolo.
Of course, that never came to fruition. However, in the mid-late 2010's, one of the central topics of discussion was how Brady was going to be replaced. Just a couple of years after the New England Patriots moved on from Garoppolo, actor Mark Wahlberg revealed his prediction.
Wahlberg isn't exactly a die-hard Mayfield supporter, but he is a Patriots fan.
According to TMZ, Wahlberg predicted Baker Mayfield to become the eventual successor to Tom Brady. While this didn't happen in Foxborough, it appears to have happened in Tampa Bay.
In a bizarre twist of fate, Wahlberg's prediction came true in recent days as the quarterback signed a one-year, $8.5 million deal.

In a way, one of the quarterbacks best positioned to follow in Tom Brady's footsteps by coming out of nowhere is Baker Mayfield. At least, he has the chance to, after walking on at Texas Tech and clawing his way to becoming the number one overall pick.
After succumbing to injuries for a season with the Cleveland Browns (who had a pre-Mayfield stretch of winning one game in two seasons), Mayfeild was forced to join the struggling Carolina Panthers to compete with Sam Darnold.
He didn't stick around for the duration of the season, and after being benched twice, requested his release. He landed with the Los Angeles Rams, where he put on two immaculate performances.
In one performance, he found a way to win a game against the Raiders with just hours to learn the offense. In another, he won 51-14 over Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos.
Now, facing a year with the Buccaneers and much of the roster that Brady won a Super Bowl with, fans are eager to see what Baker Mayfield can do.
This feels like the last chance for Mayfield as a starter, and it really is an intriguing prospect.
