Is Marshon Lattimore playing tonight against Buccaneers?
Defensive back Marshon Lattimore won’t be making his return to the field tonight. The New Orleans Saints received the bad news ahead of their Monday night matchup vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Lattimore, who was a limited participant in practice this week, was expected to make his return after being sidelined with a lacerated kidney and two broken ribs suffered in Week 5.
Multiple news outlets reported him out, and he'll wait at least another week before his return.
The injury has limited Marshon Lattimore to playing in just five games this season. In those five games, he's recorded 15 tackles and two pass deflections.
New Orleans was hopeful they'd get one of their best defensive players back for tonight's action to help cover Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Julio Jones on the Buccaneers.
The Saints have a bye next week, which will give Lattimore another week to rest. The following week, Week 15, they will host the Atlanta Falcons. Lattimore could possibly make his return for that divisional game.
The last time Marshon Lattimore faced the Tampa Bay Buccaneers he got ejected
Not only were the New Orleans Saints anticipating Marshon Lattimore's return tonight, but the fans were, too. The last time he faced the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he was ejected from the game for being involved in a brawl.
After exchanging words with Tom Brady, Evans came from behind and shoved Lattimore to the ground, igniting a brawl between the two teams.
Both players were ejected from the game; Evans received a one-game suspension.
The two have had a long history of fights, as that was the third time they got into a physical altercation during games.
While the Saints are bummed that Lattimore is out tonight, the Buccaneers certainly aren't as the Saints will be without their best defensive player.
