"It was just for a few seconds" - Aaron Rodgers' Game of Thrones cameo was as iconic as you'd expect it to be

Not many Game of Thrones fans can say they were a part of the show. Well, not unless you are Aaron Rodgers. The Green Bay Packers quarterback has been vocal about his love for the popular show, and even ended up appearing in the series finale.

While not many can say they enjoyed the show's end, Rodgers was beyond thrilled to be a part of the cast.

Even if he was just an extra.

Rodgers shared a photo of himself on set, grateful to have received this opportunity as a fan.

"It was just for a few seconds, but I’ll always be thankful to have been on the penultimate episode of @gameofthrones #crazyepisodetonight #🔥🔥🔥🔥," Rodgers wrote.

Like most, Aaron Rodgers was particularly unhappy with how they ended the show.

"No. I love the show and it was a great 10 years, but no," Rodgers said. "You come down to the end and Tyrion says the person with the best story is Bran? Who, by the way, three episodes ago said he wasn't Bran Stark anymore".

He added that other characters had a better story, including Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Jon Snow (Kit Harrington).

"I think Dany should've been on the throne," Rodgers concluded.

No one knew Aaron Rodgers while the shoot was on

Apparently, Rodgers was not the famous quarterback while on set. He was just an extra, and among those 13 million who watched the Game of Thrones finale.

"In Belfast, they didn't care at all. They had no idea who I was," Rodgers said. "It was fun to be a part of it. I love the show. It's a fantastic show. A lot of great seasons."

Harrington, who played the forever popular Jon Snow, also did not know who the Packers QB was.

Kit Harrington aka “Jon Snow” tells the story of when Game of Thrones super fan Aaron Rodgers came up to him and asked for a photo, but he didn’t know who he was 🤣

A super fan himself, the 39-year-old star just had to ask for a photo. As per Harrington, he did not know who Rodgers is because he is not a very big NFL fan.

He has spoken about his cameo time and again, even letting fans know how to spot him.

Game of Thrones, of course, is currently done and dusted. However, HBO has returned with a prequel and spin-off called 'House of the Dragon', which focused on House Targaryen and their history.

That being said, Rodgers is currently playing another season for the Packers. The QB was recently injured during Week 12, further dampening the team's chances of playing well. They have been disappointing this season, with Aaron Rodgers unable to lead them to multiple wins.
