"It really shouldn't happen": Matthew Stafford's wife Kelly raises major complaint against Vikings fans
Matthew Stafford's wife, Kelly, did not have the best experience during the Los Angeles Rams vs. Minnesota Vikings game on Thursday. The Rams handed the Vikings their second defeat of the season, but Kelly was unhappy with the behavior of some Minnesota fans.
In the latest episode of her podcast "Timeout," Kelly recounted how when one of the Rams players was injured, Vikings fans in the stadium started cheering.
"They were doing the skol chant while we had a player down," Kelly said. "And, you know, it just shouldn't happen. It really just shouldn't happen. We are all better people than that." (12:54)
This is not the first time the Rams QB's wife has had an upsetting experience while watching a game.
Last year, after the Rams lost 24-23 to the Detroit Lions in the wild-card game, her four daughters were booed by Lions fans, which deeply upset her. She was even apprehensive about watching the team's season opener against the Lions.
However, she did end up going to the game. Before the game, she had expressed hope that her husband would "kick everybody's a**."
The Rams lost 26-20.
Kelly Stafford hyped up Matthew Stafford's in-game wink
After the Vikings game, Kelly shared a post from the Rams' Instagram account featuring Matthew Stafford's wink.
"You know it's on when the wink comes out," she captioned the story.
In the 30-20 win against the Vikings, Stafford completed 73.5% of passes for 279 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception.
On Sunday, the Rams will take on the Seattle Seahawks as they look to improve to 0.500.
