"It's a glaring difference": Davante Adams takes shots at Jets and Raiders after first reps at Rams minicamp
Since leaving the Green Bay Packers, Davante Adams has bounced around the league. The perennial Pro Bowler wide receiver has spent the last three seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets.
Following his time with the Jets, Adams agreed to a two-year, $44 million contract with the Los Angeles Rams. While at mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, Adams issued a statement that seems like shots at his two previous sides.
"Everybody's in a good mood," Adams said, according to Sarah Barshop. "It's not like a dark cloud over the building. And I've experienced that quite a bit over the last few years. So, it's a glaring difference when you come into a building like this."
Adams spent the 2022, 2023 and part of the 2024 seasons with the Raiders. The former Packers star couldn't help the Raiders to the playoffs and was eventually traded in 2024 to the Jets to play with former Packers teammate Aaron Rodgers.
Adams' time with the Jets wasn't an upgrade, as he again missed out on a playoff berth. The Jets released him on March 4, allowing him to join Sean McVay's Los Angeles Rams.
What's next for Davante Adams?
Davante Adams is participating in his first mandatory minicamp as a member of the Los Angeles Rams. He's looking to contribute to the team's Super Bowl quest as he joins the fourth team of his professional football career.
Adams will play with a Super Bowl-winning quarterback for the second time. Matthew Stafford will be optimistic ahead of the 2025 season as he now has Adams and Puka Nacua as his primary receiving options.
The Rams also have star running back Kyren Williams on the roster and a promising crop of defensive players.
The Rams will start the 2025 regular season with a matchup against the Houston Texans. They'll look to pick up a win in the game in order to build up momentum in the stacked NFC. The goal will be to go a couple of steps further than their 2024 postseason record.
